Time to get my act together

Hey guys, So I sat at my desk last night, trying to figure out what to post about. After all, there's a ton of awesome new games, movies, and all sorts of cool stuff to look forward to in 2017. I could write about my new magnetic bookmark haul or my book challenge or...and then it hit me. I didn't know what to write about. I don't know what to cook for dinner. I don't know why my goals keep falling through. Cue Epiphany music I need organization in my life and at work I am super organized. At home...not so much and I feel like that is causing the quality of my blog posts and my life to suffer. I want to bring you guys the best geeky stuff I have to offer and fulfill my promise of a YouTube channel. I want this blog to be awesome and colorful and filled with great content that keeps you guys coming back for more. So I'm taking a few weeks of a hiatus, just to get my life together a little bit and sort everything out. We will return to even better scheduled pr

Fandom Friday: 5 Nerdy Places I want to Travel To.

Image
Hey everyone, We're back with a Five Fandom Friday. :D This one means a lot to me. I've always wanted to travel, so let's get started. 1. Japan As an anime fan girl, gamer, and overall lover of Japanese culture, Japan is one of my ultimate destinations. The Fiance was stationed there for two years and LOVED it. I've never left the States. Needless to say, I am SUPER jealous. This will be remedied though, as this is our honeymoon destination or at least it's on our list of places to go within the next two years. This lovely picture is Akihabara, a.k.a. NERD PARADISE. This is where the Pokemon and Studio Ghibli stores are. Not to mention countless arcades, themed cafes, stores, and so so much more. I can't wait. 2. Disney World I grew up for the most part in California. I've been to Disneyland and Sea World, but I have never been to Disney World. This may seem like a minor problem, which it probably is, but I feel the need to go to the Happiest p

Happy Birthday, Hayao Miyazaki!! My Top 5 Favorite Hayao Miyazaki movies

Image
Hey everyone, So as I'm sure most of you know yesterday was Hayao Miyazaki's birthday! He just turned 76. I adore his work and the work that he put into Studio Ghibli. In honor of his birthday, here are my top 5 favorite Hayao Miyazaki movies. 1. My Neighbor Totoro I'm obsessed with My Neighbor Totoro. Not only was it one of the first five Studio Ghibli movies, Totoro, the friendly forest spirit that the main characters interact with became the face of Studio Ghibli. This movie struck a cord in me as a child. My mom had cancer when I was younger and spent a lot of time away getting treatment. While the malady of the girl's mom isn't really known, she is in the hospital the entire movie. Heart-breaking at some points and absolutely exhilarating at others, this movie is amazing. I have a Totoro onesie, Soot Sprite Slippers, and a Totoro mug set. Totoro is me and I am Totoro. 2. Howl's Moving Castle. This movie is an interpretation of Dianna Wynne Jon

New Year Stuff

Hey everyone, I would say I'm beyond glad the holidays are over, but the holidays being over starts the birthday season for me. Between our families and friends, my fiance and I have four birthdays this month alone. My wallet is already screaming at me. Given the fact that it is the new year, I wanted to talk about what my goals are this year. I chose the word Centered for my word of the year and built all of my goals off of that. It took some serious thought and journaling to really decide how I wanted to go about this. I got a Hobonichi Techo A6 English planner for Christmas/Yule (Thank you, future father-in-law. <3) and it was the perfect thing to get me started. Every month I'll check in with you guys to show my progress...hopefully on the YouTube channel...when I can figure out how to make things work. For January, here's what my goals are. Health:  I HATE working out. HATE IT. I work at a desk all day and even though I'm in the military and have a man
